Reflecting a profound commitment to promote social justice, Karen has dedicated 25 years to the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) in various roles, including tutor, curriculum leader, and development worker. Through these positions, Karen has actively promoted art as a vehicle for empowerment, critical thinking, and social purpose.
As an accomplished mixed-media artist, Karen specialises in the ancient technique of encaustic, utilising pigments, charcoal, and ink to create deeply evocative pieces. Her practice is fundamentally connected to the land, history, and culture, reflecting a dedication to storytelling through visual expression.
Outside of her individual art practice, Karen has assumed a crucial role in establishing creative learning environments where individuals can relate to and address social issues through art.
